                             The Story

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe was acquired by the seller in 1974, and subsequent work in the 1970s involved overboring the 327ci L76 V8. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission. The car is a red-on-red example and is equipped with a Positraction differential, 15″ wheels, flip-up headlamps, and chrome bumperettes. This C2 split-window coupe is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, and a tool kit.

The fiberglass body is finished in Riverside Red (923) and features flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. Paint stains around the body are noted.

Silver-finished 15” steel wheels feature three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps and are mounted with 215/70 Monarch tires that were mounted in the 1980s. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the left-front drum has been replaced. The master cylinder was rebuilt and the slave cylinder was replaced. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear.
