                                 The Story

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment that completed in 2009, and it is powered by a 427ci L36 V8 linked with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential. The body was removed from the frame and repainted in Mosport Green, and the cabin was reupholstered in green vinyl. Further details include 15″ Turbine-style aluminum wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, an AM/FM radio, power-operated windows, chrome bumpers, retractable headlights, and bucket seats with headrests. This C2 coupe was acquired by the current owner in 2010, and it is now offered on dealer consignment in North Carolina with refurbishment records and an Illinois title.

The fiberglass body was factory-finished in Mosport Green (982), and it was removed from the frame during the refurbishment before being repainted. Additional details include a domed hood, flip-up headlights, chrome bumpers, fender vents, Soft Ray tinted glass, a retractable antenna, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance.

The 15″ Turbine-style aluminum wheels feature knock-off spinners and are mounted with Firestone FR380 white-stripe tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. This example is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.

The bucket seats are fitted with headrests and upholstered in green vinyl, and they are joined by a color-coordinated center stack, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, polished sill plates, power windows, and a reverse-lockout shifter. The air conditioning does not blow cold.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.
